Eurodad – Mid-Term Evaluation of the Debt Justice Programme

Background: In 2021 Eurodad, with the support of Bread for the World (BfdW), launched the Delivering Debt Justice in Support of People and Planet project (the “Debt Justice” project).

Our Role: Q3 Strategy undertook the mid-evaluation of Eurodad’s Debt Justice work, to assess the progress of the network’s work towards achieving the project’s overall objective to strengthen CSO’s coordinated action, harnessing more robust and sustained collective action towards decision-makers to push for critical global reforms. The mid-evaluation also aimed at assessing the project’s ways of working to improve management and coordination in its future years of implementation.

Our Approach: Following the development of a detailed evaluation plan (which included the KEQs and indicators, data sources, data collection tools and methodologies and a stakeholder mapping), the evaluation team engaged with 53 stakeholders across Eurodad’s staff, project partners (Latindadd, Afrodadd and APMDD), Eurodad member CSOs and allies and policy makers / multilateral organisations through interviews and an online survey. Results from consultations were analysed, synthesised and reported following our action-oriented framework.

Outcome: As a result of the findings and recommendations, Eurodad received further funding from Bread for the World (BfTW), to continue to work after the end of the current funding period. Moreover, due to the positive experience, Eurodad contracted Q3 Strategy to also deliver the end-evaluation of the European Commission Grant 2018-10, and to undertake the Mid Term Review of Eurodad’s 2021-2025 Strategy.
