Research Studies
Our research studies span desk-based analyses, primary research, and extensive stakeholder mapping to provide in-depth insights into complex issues affecting societies globally. Through a multi-country study for GenerationG on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), we explored the landscape of TFGBV in countries like South Africa, Rwanda, and Indonesia. This project exemplified our capacity to conduct a thorough literature review, engage in primary data collection through interviews and focus groups, map stakeholders to understand the ecosystem of TFGBV, and provide actionable recommendations.
We also provide stakeholder mapping services that are carefully designed to navigate the complex web of relationships that influence project outcomes and organisational strategies. We recognise that understanding the stakeholder landscape is critical to the successful implementation of any initiative. Our approach involves a sophisticated blend of desk research, direct engagement, and advanced analytical techniques to identify, categorise and understand the roles, interests and influence of different stakeholders across multiple sectors and geographies. For example, in our work with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), we conducted a comprehensive stakeholder mapping exercise to support the establishment of a global coordination platform for Lassa fever preparedness in West Africa. This project highlighted our ability to quickly grasp complex ecosystems and identify key actors and their interrelationships, facilitating targeted engagement and collaborative efforts towards common goals.
Strategy Work
Q3 Strategy’s approach to strategic planning and implementation is rooted in a deep understanding of both the macro-environment and micro-dynamics that organisations navigate. Our strategy work involves rigorous internal document reviews, stakeholder engagement, and analysis through frameworks like SWOT and PESTEL.
A notable example is our collaboration with Action for Global Health (AfGH), where we reviewed and developed a new strategy for 2022-2025. This involved consulting with over 100 stakeholders, ensuring the new strategy was both ambitious and grounded in the realities of global health challenges and opportunities.
In addition to interal strategy work, we have also supported CEPI and WaterAid with the development of EU Engagement Strategies, helping them to collaborate effectively with EU stakeholders and elevate their voices on the EU stage.
Monitoring and Evaluation
At Q3 Strategy, our monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEAL) services are the cornerstone of evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning. We offer comprehensive MEAL solutions, including baseline, mid-term and final evaluations or impact assessments, to measure various initiatives’ progress, impact and effectiveness. We use participatory approaches to develop sharp and actionable insights which support our clients to streamline their work and create the maximum possible impact through their projects.
We have conducted evaluations for several organisations across a range of topics including medical desserts, development finance, migration, and digital health. We have worked across a wide variety of geographies including Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa and always collaborate with local experts to ensure our evaluations are founded in contextual realities.
Workshop Facilitation and Events Planning
Our expertise in workshop facilitation and event planning ensures that every meeting, workshop, or global conference we manage is purposeful and impactful. We specialise in setting clear objectives, engaging key stakeholders, and providing comprehensive support from logistics to reporting. For CEPI, we supported the design and delivery of a global meeting on research preparedness for Lassa disease in West Africa, held in Abuja, Nigeria. This event exemplified our ability to facilitate high-level discussions, manage complex logistics, and ensure meaningful outcomes from diverse and geographically dispersed participants.
At Q3 Strategy we work on projects across a wide range of sectors in the global health and international development sphere. This includes projects focused on education, gender, WASH, digital health and many other areas. Use the link below to explore our case studies by theme.
